With stunning scenery and a deeply romantic history, It’s little wonder that North Yorkshire is high on the wish list of brides and grooms looking for a unforgettable wedding venue. There are many amazing venues across North Yorkshire, but if you are looking for a completely blank canvas with exclusive use, why not take a look at Thief Hall in Northallerton.
Northallerton is a thriving market town in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire. Today, the town itself is still a vibrant hub, and its surrounding rolling green hills are enjoyed by thousands of tourists a year, who take in the beautiful countryside, village pubs, boutique cafes, shops and restaurants on foot, and by bike, car and coach.
It’s the most wonderful place for a humanist wedding ceremony, and, as a North Yorkshire humanist celebrant, I am delighted to be one of Thief Hall’s hand-picked, recommended suppliers.
With extraordinary views across the countryside, Thief Hall is a unique, renovated barn complex, which has been refurbished to fairy tale standards by its owners. It provides an amazing opportunity for a bespoke setting, boasting enough space indoors for up to 100 guests for an indoor ceremony, 120 guests for a wedding breakfast and 180 guests for an evening party. What’s more, it has the most gorgeous on site cottages – with hot tubs - that can sleep 26 guests for up to three nights if you choose. This makes it an ideal place to chill out with friends and family before, during and after the wedding.
Prices are set for exclusive use of the whole, gorgeously furnished venue (wedding barn and six cottages), use of a private woodland glade for woodland ceremonies, and hands-on help from start to finish from its very friendly and experienced events team. Best of all, there are no restrictions, pets are welcome, and although the venue is licensed for alcohol, there are no corkage fees!
